Who builds this​

BrighterTrading is built by BrighterRoad R&D, a development firm based in New Brunswick, Canada. We build services and technologies for the benefit of our planet and societies.

Activism through development.

Our founder, Robert Dickson, started BrighterTrading to level the playing field -- giving everyday traders access to the same strategy-building and automation tools that were previously locked behind institutional walls. The platform is built on transparency and honesty about how trading actually works.

In-app help​

The fastest way to get help is the Help button in the top-right corner of the app. This opens a chat panel where you can:

  • Ask questions — an AI assistant answers based on platform documentation, so you get accurate answers about how features work
  • Create support tickets — if the AI can't help or you have an account-specific issue, create a ticket directly from the chat
  • Track your tickets — the "My Tickets" tab shows all your open and resolved tickets, and you can reply to add more detail

The help chat is available to all registered users. Guest accounts can also use it but won't have ticket history.

We aim to respond within 48 hours on business days.

Reporting bugs​

When reporting a bug, include as much of the following as you can:

  • What you were doing when the issue occurred
  • What you expected to happen vs. what actually happened
  • Your browser and operating system
  • Screenshots if applicable

The more detail you give us, the faster we can fix it.

Security concerns​

If you've discovered a security vulnerability, email us directly at [email protected] with SECURITY in the subject line. Do not post security issues publicly. We take these reports seriously and will respond promptly.

How your data is handled​

We believe you should know exactly what happens with your data:

  • Exchange API keys are encrypted at rest using Fernet encryption. They are never stored in plaintext.
  • Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. We cannot see them and neither can anyone else.
  • Strategy code belongs to you. You built it, you own it.
  • We do not sell or share your data with third parties. Full stop.

BrighterTrading is under active development. If there's a feature you'd like to see, something that doesn't work the way you'd expect, or a concept that the docs don't explain clearly enough -- tell us. Your feedback directly shapes what gets built next.
